An air hostess from Air India fell off the aircraft at the Mumbai airport while closing the doors of the plane and sustained severe injuries this morning. The aircraft was scheduled for departure from Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport and arrival at New Delhi.
The New Delhi bound flight AI 864 termed the incident as ‘unfortunate’ and have assured an inquiry. According to reports, the 53-year-old Harsha Lobo fell while trying to close the doors of the aircraft. She suffered severe injuries on her legs and was taken to the Nanavati Hospital to get proper treatment.

Before this incident, around three years ago, an engineer with Air India lost his life after being sucked into the running engine of the aircraft at the same airport as the pilots started the engine mistaking a false signal.
