The common man who was under the pressure of the sky high fuel prices got relief after Finance Minister Arun Jaitley announced that the centre has cut Rs 2.5 for the fuel prices across the country. Jaitley further urged all the state Chief Ministers to cut down the prices so that it comes down to Rs 5/litre.

Maharashtra
Maharashtra Government also decided to give additional relief of ₹2.5/litre on Petrol to give total benefit of ₹5/litre in the State of Maharashtra.

Jammu and Kashmir
Petrol & Diesel prices in Jammu and Kashmir were also slashed by Rs 5 per litre as the State Gov announced cut of Rs 2.50 in the fuel prices commensurate with the price cut of Rs 2.50.

In order to ease burden on common people & in tandem with the announcement of FM Shri @arunjaitley ji to cut prices of petrol & diesel by Rs 2.50, Govt of Assam has decided to reduce tax on petrol & diesel prices by Rs 2.50 thereby making them cheaper by Rs 5 in Assam.
