The next film of Deepika Padukone will not just have her acting in it, but it will also be produced by her. Directed by Meghna Gulzar, the film is based on the life of an acid attack survivor Laxmi Aggarwal which will be played by Deepika. According to reports, she was deeply touched by Laxmi Aggarwal’s story that she planned to invest in the film as well.
After Raazi by Meghna Gulzar, this film is expected to become a hit on the big screen. The story is about Laxmi who was attacked by a male in the year 2005 on rejecting his wedding proposal. She also won an award for the US State Department’s International Women of Courage in 2014.
Before signing for this film, Deepika was ready to work with Irrfan Khan and Vishal Bhardwaj on a new assignment that got postponed due to Irrfan’s ill-health.
