We have an exciting clash coming up on 28 September. Well.. not entirely a clash because movie buffs would end up watching both.
Vishal Bhardwaj’s ‘Patakha’ is his attempt at comedy after a long stint of dark and brooding classics (Talvar, Rangoon, Haider ) . His last comedy was the utterly quirky Matru ki Bijli ka Mandola in 2013 .

Hopefully this comedy is less unconventional than his last one and strikes a chord with the masses because as much as I am a die hard fan of his, I really want his movies to do commercially well too.
Kataria who wowed the audience with his “ Dum laga ke Haisha “ in 2015 is coming back with “ Sui Dhaga “ on 28 sep .
While he has the fan following of mega stars like Varun and Anushka this time , it remains to be seen if he creates the same rustic magic with authentic-to-the-core desi feel in terms of set up , dialogues, dialect and of course his wonderful ensemble cast.

Varun and Anushka have always shown a tilt towards unconventional roles. Badlapur and October gave a chance to Varun to complete push his boundaries and he proved his mettle too. While Anushka has always attempted unconventional stories as a producer, it was only in Pari that her character was vastly different in terms of portrayal.
Sui Dhaga would be a challenging one as these two actors would need a lot of efforts to authenticate the small town or rather rural characters they play.
While some of you might be in quandary on which one to watch , some of others would have a dilemma of which one to watch first . For me , my reverence to the master film maker would win hands down .
