“I have been wanting to get out of this domain (strategising electioneering) for two years. It could have been after the results of Uttar Pradesh elections, but the failure put the decision on hold…You will not see Prashant Kishor campaigning for any party or individual in 2019,” Kishor had said at the ISB Hyderabad Leadership summit held recently.

In political circles, Prashant Kishor came to be known as Chanakya of Nitish Kumar and their association has continued even after Mr Kumar joined hands with the BJP.

Over the next few years, he worked for political rivals of the BJP, not just Nitish Kumar but also the Congress.
