Smriti Irani blames Congress for mounting NPAs in banking system

Union Minister Smriti Irani on Tuesday targeted Gandhi family and blamed Congress for mounting non-performing assets in the banking system. Raghuram Rajan’s statement clearly proves that it is Congress who is responsible for increased NPA, Irani said addressing media persons.

“UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi led government that attacked the very core of the Indian banking system. Raghuram Rajan said that between 2006-08, the UPA functioning led to increased NPAs in India’s banking structure.”

Irani was referring to a note written by the former RBI governor Raghuram Rajan to Parliamentary panel.

UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi led a government that attacked the very core of the Indian banking system. Raghuram Rajan said that between 2006-08, the UPA functioning led to increased NPAs in India’s banking structure, Irani said.

On National Herald Case, Smriti Irani said that the Congress was exposed when the Delhi HC rejected the reassessment plea of Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi challenging the Income Tax notice seeking tax for the financial year 2011-12.
