Ola cabbie watches porn, masturbates while riding with a woman passenger

Date:

Bengaluru: In another horrific incident, a 22-year old woman in Bengaluru was allegedly molested by an online cab driver. The incident reportedly took place on Thursday when she had booked a cab from Yelahanka New Town to JP Nagar.

According to reports, she told the police, she booked an Ola cab around 6.28 am on Thursday morning following which a driver arrived at her residence shortly. The woman, on reaching near the Queen’s circle, noticed the driver, Devasmoliya, constantly ogling her through the rear view mirror.

The driver held his cell phone in his left hand so that it is visible to her and started watching a porn video on it, the victim said in a complaint she lodged at the Cubbon Park police station.

She further claimed that he even masturbated with her sitting in the back. She told police officials that she repeatedly urged him to stop the car and let her off but he did not stop until they reached her destination.

Responding to the allegations, Ola in a statement said that the accused driver no longer has access to their platform. “We are standing by our customer and cooperating with police,” said the private cab aggregator.

In the wake of rising in crime against women across the country, the authorities need to be more stringent against online cab aggregators.
