Pulwama: A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, Shabir Ahmed Bhat, was shot dead by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district in the wee hours of Wednesday.
26-year old Bhat was abducted by unidentified gunmen while he was going to his native place in Pulwama to celebrate Eid from Srinagar on Tuesday evening.
He was abducted close to his home in Pulwama.

His dead body was recovered from Litter village. “We are investigating the circumstances of the killing of BJP leader,” a senior police officer was quoted in a report.
BJP state spokesman Altaf Thakur condemned the killing of BJP leader and blamed militants for this killing. “He (Bhat) was our constituency president and dedicated leader. He had gone to his home to celebrate Eid with his family but was abducted by militants and then killed.”
Bhat is the third senior BJP leader to be killed by unidentified gunmen in South Kashmir in the past one year.
