Asian Games 2018: Deepak Kumar bags Silver for India in Men’s 10m Air Rifle

Deepak Kumar bagged Silver medal for India at the Asian Games 2018 in the Men’s 10m Air Rifle category on Monday. Deepak finished with score of 247.7 while China’s Haoran Yang won the Gold with an Asian Games record score of 249.1. Ravi Kumar in the same event finished with the score of 205.2.

China won the Gold as well as the Bronze when Shaochuan Lu finished the score list at 226.8. India’s confidence was boosted a lot as both Deepak and Ravi Kumar made it to the finals .

Ravi Kumar won the first medal this year and opened the medal tally for India with Apurvi Chandela in the mixed team event, finished 4th with 626.7 points while Deepak Kumar was 5th with 626.3 points. The duo, Ravi Kumar and Apurvi Chandela, claimed Bronze on the first day of the Asian Games 2018.

“This bronze has come only because of Apurvi. The final was a disappointment after a decent qualification. We didn’t get enough time to train together,” Ravi Kumar told PTI.
