In this modern tech era, we often forget the simpler, finer things in life. Hardly anyone has time to sit down and read a good book these days. However, we all need a break from our busy lives every now and then. And what better way to do that than to curl up in your favorite chair and spend the evening by yourself, reading that book that’s been lying on your shelf for the past 6 months!

Here’s a list of 5 books everyone under 25 must read!

1 To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee is the critically acclaimed novel about life in the Deep South of America. It provides deep insight into the prejudices and discrimination that were part and parcel of American Life. It’s considered to be a classic of modern American literature. It has won several awards including literatures most coveted prize, the Pulitzer. It was also adapted into a movie in 1962.

In 2015, Harper Lee released a “sequel” to the popular novel, which is more of a first draft of her original bestseller. It was her second and last book before she passed away in 2016 at the age of 89. It received mixed reviews for it’s rather controversial content of race and discrimination.

2 Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom is a rather obscure novel, with a beautiful message: love life! Written from the perspective of a busy journalist, the novel deals with birth, death, and everything in between.

3 The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank is the heartbreaking story of Anne Frank, the young Jewish girl who lost her life in the Holocaust. Two years before she died, her family seeked shelter in an abandoned office building in Amsterdam. It is there that she began writing about her life experiences. This profound and timeless novel is a must read for everyone

4 The Secret, by Rhonda Byrne is considered to be one of the simplest, yet most powerful self help books of all time. It talks about the law of attraction and the power of owns own thoughts. This beautiful book is sure to leave a lasting impact in the lives of everyone.

5 Catch 22, by Joseph Heller, written more than 50 years ago, is still considered to be a cornerstone of American literature. It provides a funny, yet brutally honest insight into the second world war. It details the life of a US Air Force bombardier, with one simple wish. To survive the insane war! It’s a must read for those who enjoy satire and dark comedy.
