Two DMK workers lost their lives after listening to the news of DMK Chief M Karunanidhi passing away. Subramanian and Rajendran, who are in their fifties, died of heart attack.

Karunanidhi died at the age of 94 at Chennai after having urinary tract infection and prolonged illness at 6:10 PM on Monday. He left a vacuum among the political fraternity and the people also as he was the hero of the people in Tamil Nadu.

Lots of people were gathered outside the Kauvery Hospital, Chennai when he was admitted there and after the declaration of his death by the hospital, people were still outside the hospital waiting for his ambulance carrying his mortal remains.
