The Congress Working Committee had it’s meeting on Saturday to discuss the political situation in the country but Sonia Gandhi was not present at the meeting as she was unwell. The meeting was organised by the party President Rahul Gandhi and some senior leaders of the party were also present including Manmohan Singh.

This meeting is the second meeting under Rahul Gandhi’s leadership. Many more leaders were present there- A K Antony, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Ahmed Patel and Sheila Dikshit among others.

The meeting was also held to discuss on NRC, the Congress slammed Modi government saying the highly sensitive exercise has been “tardy” and has led to massive insecurity in Assam.
