Mohammed Rafi ki “Yaadon Ki Baaraat”

Considered as a pioneer of the Indian film music, Rafi Sahab was an exceptional talent. He lent his melodious voice to 14 Indian languages and 4 foreign languages. Even today’s Twitter generation continues to remix or recreate his popular songs.

Honored with 6 Filmfare Awards, 4 Bengal Film Journalists’ Association, 2 National Awards and Padma Shri in 1967; Rafi Sahab left the world today in 1980. His burial was one of the largest funeral processions in India as over 10,000 people attended his burial. The government of India announced a two-day public mourning in his honor.
