Inspired by an unbeaten knock of 113 from Joe Root, England posted 322 for 7 against India at Lord’s in the second ODI.
Slamming his 12th ODI ton and second against India, Root brilliantly anchored the England batting to a very score.

After winning the toss, skipper Eoin Morgan opted to bat first on a batsman-friendly track.
Openers Jonny Bairstow and Jason Roy provided England with a solid start contributing 69 for the opening wicket. Kuldeep Yadav provided India with their first breakthrough dismissing Jonny Bairstow for 38 in the 11th over.
Jason Roy (40) followed Bairstow soon becoming Kuldeep’s second victim in his successive over. Post the double blow, Joe Root and Eoin Morgan played watchfully and steadied the England ship.

Both stitched a partnership of 103 runs before Kuldeep struck again dismissing dangerous-looking Eoin Morgan for 53. After the skipper’s departure, England’s powerhouse middle order comprising Ben Stokes (5), Jos Buttler (4) and Moeen Ali (13) tumbled like a pack of cards but David Willey (50 off 31 balls) played a gem of a knock to help England get past 300-run mark.
For India, chinaman Kuldeep Yadav was once again the highlight as he picked up 3 wickets. Yuzvendra Chahal, Hardik Pandya and Umesh Yadav bagged one wicket each.
Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan are out to begin the run chase for India.
