Despite having his dream of playing at Russia 2018 dashed, Zlatan Ibrahimovic was Sweden’s biggest cheerleader from the sidelines at this World Cup, and says his former gave their all despite losing 2-0 to England in the quarters.

The Sweden team was not fancied before the tournament, despite knocking out Italy in the qualifying play-offs, but exceeded expectations in Russia by getting out of a group at expense of reigning champions Germany, and beating a skilled Switzerland team in the second round.
The team’s fairy tale was cut short in Samara on Wednesday by an England team on its journey of destiny.
