Sensex surges 385.84 points, Nifty above 10,700; rupee rebounds

Date:

The 30-share BSE Sensex closed 385.84 points higher at 35,423.48 on Friday while the broader Nifty50 ended 125.20 points up at 10,714.30 breaking a two-day losing streak.

The 1% surge on Friday was on the back rupee’s recovery against the US dollar, after it hit an all-time low in the previous session.

Asian markets were mixed. Oil prices fell amid concerns about trade frictions between US and other major economies.
