The group behind the Oscar film awards has invited twenty B-town celebrities to be a part of the Academy awards body. Some of them include Shah Rukh Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Anil Kapoor, Tabu, Naseeruddin Shah.

On Monday the list of invitees was revealed that purely indicates diversity since it includes actors, film producers, directors, and cinematographers.

Among the producers, the list includes Aditya Chopra and Guneet Monga and Anil Mehta, the cinematographer of ‘Beyond the Clouds’ and ‘Highway’ are also part of the list.

The list of invitees includes 49% females and 38% are people of colour. Veteran Bengali actors Soumitra Chatterjee and Madhabi Mukherjee have also been invited to be a part of the body.

This decision has been taken after the previous backlash last year in which SRK was not a part of the awards body for the Oscars. Aamir Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Salman Khan, Irrfan Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan were extended an invite that time.
