President Ram Nath Kovind has given nod to Governor’s rule in the state of Jammu and Kashmir after Governor NN Vohra forwarded his report to him. It came after BJP on Monday pulled out the plug and broke its alliance with PDP, leaving Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti with nothing else rather than resigning. The BJP said that they will prefer Governor’s rule in Kashmir.

Governor Vohra forwarded his report for the imposition of Governor’s rule under Section 92 of the Constitution of Jammu and Kashmir. This would be the eighth time that the state will be under Governor’s rule and the fourth time that Governor’s rule has been imposed with NN Vohra in charge.
