Japan on Tuesday created history as it became the first ever Asian country to beat any South American country on the FIFA World Cup.
Japan achieved the feat by defeating 10-man Colombia 2-1 in the first match Group H.
Before this match Asian teams had played against South American nations 17 times in World Cup, losing 14 and drawing 3.
Japan’s Yuya Osako was named the man of the match.

Meanwhile, Colombia’s Sanchez suffered second earliest World Cup red card in history.
