NewsMobile campaign to find practical solutions on World Environment Day

Date:

The world environment day is observed on the 5th of June every year. It is instrumental in raising awareness and action to protect our environment, which, as we all know, is in grave danger.

The World Environment Day was first celebrated in the year 1972. Since then, people all over the world have relentlessly been fighting to raise awareness on emerging environmental issues like marine pollution, human overpopulation, global warming and wildlife crime. The world environment day has grown to become a global platform for public outreach, with participation from over 143 countries annually. Each year it has a new theme that major corporations, NGOs, communities, governments and celebrities worldwide adopt to advocate environmental causes.
In 2017 the theme was ‘Connecting People to Nature, in the city and on the land, from the poles to the equator.’ The host city was Ottawa, Canada. This year the theme is ‘Beat plastic pollution’ for which the host city is New Delhi, India.

As a step forward, NewsMobile interacted with prominent environmentalists, students and other prominent people to come up with solutions on how to save our deteriorating environment, before it gets too late. These are simple doable solutions which can easily be adopted in our everyday living. School students have expressed their views on the current scenario and their thoughts; suggesting different ways on how one can contribute to the environment to make it a better place to live in.

The following messages and clippings are instrumental in raising awareness amongst children and the older generations alike. Let us unite to save our planet before it hits us as an irreparable loss.
