Tricolour burial for a peacock in Delhi

Tricolour burials have been common among martyred military men and national figures with peacock one of them. One such burial was witnessed on Friday in Delhi.

On Friday evening, a call was made to the Delhi police station about an injured peacock lying on the road outside the high court and when it reached the hospital, the doctors of the Jain Bird Hospital in Chandni Chowk declared the peacock dead.

The peacock was then wrapped in a tricolour by the Delhi police and kept in a wooden box to bury.

The peacock was found injured outside the high court by the policemen, however, it could not survive the injury and died.

As per the protocol, the policemen gave it the full honour by burying it after wrapping it in a tricolour.
