The benchmark indices edged up on April 24 with the 30-share benchmark Sensex ending at 34,616.64 up 165.87 points while the broader Nifty 50 index settled at 10,614.35 up 29.65 points.
Metal and IT stocks pulled the market down while pharma and financial stocks boosted sentiment. Bharti Airtel results are awaited later today.

Brent crude oil rose for a sixth day on April 24 to hit its highest since November, 2014 at over $75 a barrel, buoyed by expectations that supplies will tighten just as demand reaches record levels.
