Pakistan cricketer breaks border protocol, faces flak from BSF

Creating a massive controversy, Pakistani cricketer Hasan Ali broke the protocol while the flag lowering ceremony in Wagah on Saturday. The Pakistani cricketer entered the ceremony during the drill performed by armed forces of both India, Pakistan and did his signature step towards the Indian audience.


The Border Security Force has taken a note of Hasan interfering in the ceremony from the Pakistani side and has said that it will lodge a strong protest against the Pakistani cricketer.

As per the set protocol, the ceremony is only carried out by the BSF on the Indian side and Rangers on the Pakistani side and no ‘civilian’ is supposed to interfere in it. After the incident, BSF Inspector General Mukul Goel was quoted as saying that: “The act has hit the sanctity of the parade. We will lodge a protest with Pakistan Rangers”.

“It happened on Pakistani side. Pakistani officers later made that player sit. BSF is lodging protest with Pakistan rangers,” said RS Kataria, DIG. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has also tweeted out a number of pictures of Pakistani cricket team’s visit to Wagah on Saturday.
