Top DJ found dead in Oman

Acclaimed Swedish-born DJ and musician  Tim Bergling, popularly known as Avicii has been found dead in Oman.

Avicii who was 28 was in Muscat, Oman when he passed away, confirmed his publicist Diana Baron.

An official statement reads, “He was found dead in Muscat, Oman this Friday afternoon local time, April 20th. The family is devastated and we ask everyone to please respect their need for privacy in this difficult time. No further statements will be given.”

Just days before his death Avicii had been nominated for a 2018 Billboard Music Award.

Avicii was a pioneer of the Electronic Dance Movement and have won two MTV Music Awards, one Billboard Music Award and earned two Grammy nominations.

His biggest hits include “Le7els,” “Wake Me Up!,” “The Days,” and “You Make Me.

The cause of death has not been revealed.
