Late Bollywood actress Sridevi has been honoured with the Best Actress award posthumously for her film ‘Mom’ at the 65th National Film Awards on Friday.
Reacting to Sridevi’s National award win, an emotional Boney Kapoor told PTI that he wished Sridevi was here to witness the proud moment. “Thank you. I just wish she was here today to see this,” said Boney.
Sridevi’s husband Boney Kapoor and daughters Jhanvi and Khushi have also issued a statement thanking the Indian government and the jury members for the honour. They have also thanked Sridevi’s friends and fans for their congratulatory messages.
A proud Kapoor clan called Sridevi’s National Award win a ‘special moment’ and said she was not just a super actor but a super wife and a super mom as well.

Directed by Ravi Udyawar, ‘Mom’ follows the story of a mother who avenges a crime committed against her step-daughter.
The film marked the 300th screen appearance for Sridevi. Also starring Sajal Ali, Adnan Siddiqui and Abhimanyu Singh, ‘Mom’ opened to rave reviews in Indian cinemas on July 7.
Sridevi was a Padma Shri recipient. She died in her room at a Dubai hotel due to accidental drowning on February 24, and was given a state funeral in suburban Vile Parle in Mumbai on February 28.
