Who doesn’t know Jim Carrey? He’s the actor who made laughter mainstream in Hollywood in the 90s. In his new avatar, Carrey is an illustrator and a connoisseur of art for some time now. But, what has recently got public’s attention are his depiction of his latest muse, the 45th President of the United States, Donald Trump.
The actor has been taken up with Trump and his depictions of Trump’s politics completely. His illustrations which the actor has put up on his social media handle has created a stir in the US.
The latest from the actor’s quiver is a painting of the President with his nipple on display and mouth open in horror like in the famous Munch painting, Scream. The actor has addressed the artwork to the Smithsonian Gallery saying, “Dear Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery @NPG, I know it’s early but I’d like to submit this as the official portrait of our 45th President, Donald J. Trump. It’s called, ‘You Scream. I Scream. Will We Ever Stop Screaming?'”

Another one showed Trump taking a bath in sewage water along with the message that read, “Did anyone watch 60 minutes last night? Hell of a piece about a poor kid from Greece named Giannis Antetokounmpo who’s making it big in the NBA. America still has some magic. Pity you have to wade through so much cultural sewage to find it”. The reference was obviously to Stormy Daniel’s interview on the show where she spoke about her sordid “affair” with Donald Trump who was a married man and a newly-turned father.

Carrey even took a potshot on the President’s alleged sexual encounters. He captioned the image, “Fifty Shades of Decay”. This obviously eludes to the sexy 50 Shades trilogy that made ‘mom porn’ legitimate worldwide.

Another one of his art shows Trump in a wizard’s hat. The tweet read, “If you liked my last cartoon you may also enjoy…”THE WICKED WITCH OF THE WEST WING AND PUTIN’S FLYING MONKEYS”.

Carrey’s art like his films make an obvious impact with their not-so-subtle messages and use of sharp and fresh colors. His caricatures of other Trump loyalists are also on-spot.
Can we safely say, an artist is born? Or would it be ‘parliamentary’ to laud something so obviously close to reality. Only time will tell. Till then, enjoy the show.
