21-year-old kidnapped and murdered; suspect arrested

A 21-year-old student of Delhi University was kidnapped for ransom on 22nd March was murdered and found in a closed drain in Dwarka, Delhi. Ayush Nautiyal was studying at Ram Lal Anand college was kidnapped near his house on Thursday.

Later on, the same day victim’s father received a picture on Whatsapp, in which Ayush was tied up and a head injury as per the reports. The accused, Ishtiaq Ali, 25, is a resident of Uttam Nagar, West Delhi was arrested after a really long investigation.

Ishtiaq Ali works as a sampling manager for various export houses and is an ex-student of a fashion institute. He confessed to killing Ayush Nautiyal, a South Campus student. Nautiyal’s body was recovered from a drain in Dwarka Sector 13. Ali was arrested with the help of technical surveillance and CCTV footage collected from various locations.

“Ali told police he disposed off the body the next day with the help of a friend. The vehicle used to dispose off the body has also been recovered. A manhunt is on to nab his friend,” he added.  A ransom of Rs. 50 Lakh was demanded by the kidnappers to to which the family already arranged 10 Lakh. The family further said that the police has ‘casual attitude’.
