A case has been filed today against a Delhi Police inspector for allegedly molesting a journalist during a march organised by JNU students and he was sent to district lines, police said.
The special commissioner of police (traffic) and chief spokesperson for the Delhi Police, Deependra Pathak said that that a vigilance inquiry has been initiated against the Delhi Cantt SHO, who is booked under molestation charges and sent to district police line.
The case will now be investigated by the crime branch, said police.
Jawaharlal Nehru University students on Friday organised a march from the varsity campus towards parliament.
Police used water canons and lathicharge at the Sanjay Jheel in Lakshmi Bai Nagar area to disperse the crowed of students, teachers and journalists who were covering the protests.
Seperate complainst have been filed the two journalist — one for molestation and another for assault — with regard to incidents during the protest march.
Yesterday, a woman constable and a male head constable were suspended for allegedly allegedly snatching the camera of a photojournalist during the march.
