Harry Kane scored another hat-trick as Tottenham Hotspur demolished Southampton 5-2 at the Wembley Stadium.
Kane, who had scored a hat-trick in the last Premier League clash as well, registered his 8tu PL hat-trick of 2017 and broke Alan Shearer’s record for most goals in a single year in PL. His tally of 3 goals also meant that he finished the year ahead of Ronaldo and Lionel Messi in terms of goal scored.
Kane opened the scoring in the 22nd minute from a set piece delivery of Christian Eriksen before doubling the lead in the 39th minute. Dele Alli then scored 4 minutes after break and Son Heung-Min scores 2 minutes later to make it 4-0. Kane then had several chances before he finally completed his hattrick in the 67th minute.
St Mary’s then pulled two goals back through Sofiane Boufal and Dusan Tadic in the 64th and 82nd minute but Spurs earned the vital three points to enter top 4.
