Chennai: In a dramatic move ahead of the RK Nagar by polls, the TTV Dhinakaran faction on Wednesday released a video of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa in the Apollo Hospital in Chennai.
Following Jayalalithaa’s death, suspicion over the circumstances leading to her demise was raised by several persons, including Panneerselvam and his followers.
However, on Wednesday, P Vetrivel, TTV Dhinakaran’s supporter said in a press briefing,
“It is false that no one met Jayalalithaa in hospital, there’s video proof. We waited for days before releasing it but released it now as we were left with no option. Inquiry Commission hasn’t summoned us yet, if it does we’ll submit evidence to them.”
Merely a day ago, DMK leader M K Stalin vowed to unravel the “mystery” behind the death of Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa in December last year and bring to book anyone found involved.
Meanwhile, the Election Commission said that Dhinakaran camp has violated poll code.
The bypoll is being held to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Jayalalithaa on December 5 last year.
The RK Nagar bypoll, necessitated after the death of former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, was earlier scheduled on April 12 but was cancelled following allegations that sums of money were distributed in a vote-for-cash scam.
Counting of votes will be held on December 24.
