T20 century Number 19 for Chris Gayle

While scoring a century is not a bed of roses for any cricketer in the world, scoring them in T20s is even tougher. There are very limited cricketers with a century to their name in T20s but when it comes to Chris Gayle, it is his cup of tea. He is least bothered about any such fact and scores centuries at will.

Gayle scored his 19th T20 when he scored a mammoth 126 from 51 balls while playing for Rangpur Riders against Khulna Titans in the Bangladesh Premier League. The knock included 14 sixes and just 6 fours. He sealed the game with 2 back to back sixes as Rangpur won by 8 wickets with 28 balls left in the chase.

What was even more interesting was the fact that the opponent had scored just 167 while Henry Gayle scored 126 alone. He reached the ton in 45 balls against the likes of Mahmudullah, Carlos Brathwaite and Mohammad Irfan.

Gayle’s dominance

Gayle has hit 10 or more sixes 14 times in T20s while no one has done it more than twice. Dasun Shanaka, Evin Lewis and Brendon McCullum are the three. 29 players have achieved the feat once each.

Michael Klinger, Luke Wright and Brendon McCullum have scored 7 centuries each which is second highest.
