Manikpur: At least three died while several were injured after Vasco De Gama Patna Express derailed near Uttar Pradesh’s Banda on Friday.
The CPRO of NCR region, Gaurav Krishna Bansal informed that 13 coaches of the train slipped off the track in Manikpur at 4:18 a.m. when it was leaving from the platform.
Railway Minister Piyush Goyal has announced a compensation of Rs. 5 lakh each to the family of the dead, Rs. 1 lakh for those with grievous injuries and Rs. 50,000 for the injured.

Chitrakoot Superintendent of Police Pratap Gopendra Singh said a father and his son from Bettiah district of Bihar died on the spot while the third person died at a hospital. Two of the injured are said to be serious.
