Passengers left stranded at Jaipur Airport as Air India pilot denies to fly

Jaipur: At least forty-four passengers were left stranded at the Jaipur Airport, as the pilot refused to fly the plane beyond his duty hours. The pilot reported to the airline officials that his duty times are over and hence refused to take off. The stranded passengers were later taken to Delhi by road.

Speaking about the incident an Air India official said, “The pilot cannot exceed duty hours for safety reasons as per the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) norms.”

However, the questions which are being raised are that why the pilot was given additional duty if pilots are not allowed to exceed duty hours.

While some passengers were accommodated in hotels, few were taken to Delhi by road.
