A splendid bowling attack by India made it difficult for the Kiwis’ batsmen to score runs as they fell short of six runs to lose the third T20I and series by 2-1 in a rain-curtailed 8-over-a-side match in Thiruvananthapuram.
The Virat Kohli-led team registered their first bilateral T20I series win against New Zealand.

The batsmen were ousted by Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowling and they could not catch up with the ever-rising required run-rate.
Colin de Grandhomme (17) scored the highest for New Zealand. And the bowlers did the magic for India with Jasprit Bumrah finishing the match with the figures of 2/9 in his stipulated two overs.

Earlier, India too could not counter the Kiwis bowling attack as they mustered 67/5. For India, Manish Pandey scored the highest, 17. For New Zealand, Tim Southee finished with the figures of 2/13 in his two overs.
