Capital Smogged: Schools in Delhi to remain shut till Sunday

New Delhi: Amid rising pollution in the national capital, Delhi government on Wednesday directed all government and private schools to remain closed till Sunday.

Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said that due to worsening of air quality in Delhi, the government has decided to shut schools until Sunday.

“Air quality in Delhi is worsening, have directed all schools to remain closed till Sunday,” Manish Sisodia said.

Meanwhile, there have been no reports from schools in adjoining areas of Delhi.

Delhi pollution level on Wednesday increased at an alarming rate as compared to Tuesday as the thick smog covered the city.

As per reports are concerned, the Delhi-NCR smog will continue to remain for next three days. Trains, as well as bus services, have been disrupted for the same reason.

NGT (National Green Tribunal) have called this situation an emergency situation and asked people to carry N95 masks while travelling.
