Four people died and 10 people were injured in a stampede on the banks of Ganga river in Begusarai, Bihar on Saturday. The incident took place when people were gathered at a major bathing point Simaria ghat on the occasion of Kartik Purnima.

According to the reports, the stampede was caused because of rumours. Bihar Chief Minister announced 4 Lakh each for the dead.
