Adnan Sami is in Srinagar to perform in a government-organised concert on the banks of the famous Dal Lake called, ‘Rhythm of Paradise’.
The Pakistani-origin singer who acquired an Indian citizenship last year, will be performing to a guest list consisting of VVIPs tomorrow. The duration of the concert will be two hours.

For Sami who is half-Kashmiri – his mother was Kashmiri while his father was a Pakistani diplomat – this is his second work-trip to Kashmir. Earlier, he had visited the Indian state during the shooting of the Salman Khan starrer, Bajrangi Bhaijaan. A song sung by him was filmed on him in the Valley for the movie.
Today, Sami met some native Kashmiri musicians and spent time discussing music with them. He shared his journey into the world of music and experiences with the artists.
Earlier, he had shared the poster of the upcoming concert on the social media site,

Among other dignitaries, the Minister for Home Affairs, Kiren Rijijiju will be attending the concert to be held amidst tight security.

Due to security concerns the show will not be open to the public but, Doordarshan is set to live stream the event and beam it to homes across India.
Adnan, who reached Kashmir yesterday, two days ahead of the concert has been sharing photographs depicting the beauty of the state that is often called Paradise on Earth with its natural beauty often compared to that of Switzerland.

The event is jointly organized by the Union Home Ministry and the Jammu and Kashmir government.
Speaking at the event to meet and interact with Kashmiri musicians today, Sami said, “Language of art is a form of communication that transcends all differences created by humans as it reaches above hate to spread a message of peace and harmony.”
“The mysticism and Sufism found in Kashmir will continue to inspire me and influence my music so that I can produce rich melodies,” he said.
