RaGa likely to take over as Congress president post Diwali

New Delhi: Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi is all set to take over as the Congress party chief as sources suggest that Rahul is likely to take over the post of party president by the end of this month.

According to sources, the nomination for the post of party president is likely to start from October 10, if there is more than one candidate in the fray.

However, the Central Election Authority of Congress has decided to fix the date around October 10 for the beginning of the election for the party president.

Rahul is currently serving as the vice-president of the party, while his mother Sonia Gandhi, is holding the post of party president.

The results are expected to be announced by October 25.

The state presidents of the Congress Party will be asked to file the nomination papers for the post of president either in state capital’s or Congress headquarters.

The Central Election Committee of the Congress Party has reviewed the preparations for the elections with the Returning Officer.
