A late-night raid, led by Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Manish Sisodia, at a municipal school in east Delhi, discovered two people who had allegedly illegally occupied a classroom.

The government said AAP councillor, Kuldeep Kumar, received information about the illegal occupation of a classroom at Kalyanpuri 19 block Nagar Nigar School. “The information was passed on to Education Minister Manish Sisodia. He immediately ordered a raid in order to ascertain the facts,” said an official.

As per the Delhi government, an entire classroom in the school had been converted into living quarters. “A number of items ranging from utensils to a small axe, meant for chopping wood, were also recovered from what was once a classroom. This entire room had been converted into living quarters,” claimed an official.

An AAP leader alleged, “The school had a number of complaints. In fact, we received information that this group of people had illegally forced out the students and slowly converted the classroom into living quarters from themselves.”
