Senior Punjab journalist KJ Singh, 65, and his mother, Gurcharan Kaur, 92, were found murdered at their residence in Mohali. Mohali senior superintendent police Kuldeep Chahal confirmed the murders and said that the motive was being investigated.
According to reports, Singh was found with his throat slit while his mother is believed to have been strangulated. Certain items such as a television as well as Singh’s car have also been reported missing.
KJ Singh was a former news editor of the Indian Express The Tribune and The Times of India in Chandigarh.
Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president and former deputy chief minister of Punjab Sukhbir Badal took to Twitter to express his condolences and to condemn the murders.
