The Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday conveyed his good wishes to the all-women Navy team of ‘Navika Sagar Parikrama’, who will embark on the journey of circumnavigating the globe on board Indian Naval Sailing Vessel (INSV) Tarini.
“Today is a special day! 6 women officers of the Navy begin their journey of circumnavigating the globe on board INSV Tarini.” Prime Minister tweeted
“The entire nation comes together in wishing the all-women team of Navika Sagar Parikrama the very best in their remarkable endevour.

Prime Minister Modi on his app urged the citizens to “share” their good wishes and “words of encouragement for the team of Navika Sagar Parikrama”.
Defence minister Nirmala Sitharaman flagged off the Navika Sagar Parikrama at a ceremony at the INS Mandovi Boat Pool near Panaji.

The team will be headed by Lt Commander Vartika Joshi, and comprising Lt Commanders Pratibha Jamwal and P Swathi, and Lieutenants S Vijaya Devi, B Aishwarya and Payal Gupta who will commence their voyage from Goa and are expected to return back in March 2018
