The much-awaited SUV by the American company, Jeep Compass was launched on Monday with an exciting starting price tag of Rs 14.95 Lakh Ex-showroom price. The Compass will take on SUVs like Mahindra XUV 500 and Hyundai Creta in the segment.

The booking of Jeep Compass started early in June this year. Compass is the cheapest offering the SUV maker Jeep.
The starting price is very attractive for the Indian market, thanks to the Fiat’s Ranjangaon facility which manufacturers Compass locally. However, there is a steep range in the variants of Compass which could go up to Rs 20 Lakh.
The Jeep will be available in three variants Sport, Longitude, and Limited with both Deisel and Petrol options.
The Jeep Compass is being offered with two powertrain options – the 160+ HP, 250 Nm Multi-air petrol and the 170+ HP, 350 Nm, Diesel. The SUV will also come with options for the 6-speed manual transmission (Petrol and Diesel) and the 7-speed Dual Dry Clutch Technology Automatic or DDCT (Petrol) both these engines will be scalable to BS VI regulatory requirements in India.

The Compass 4×4 will be equipped with Jeep Active Drive and Selec-Terrain Traction Management System. The SUV will come with a Driveline Disconnect Technology (DDT). True to its name, DDT disconnects the drive that goes to the rear wheels automatically when not required. This helps in fuel saving and assists safer driving.
It also offers the Electric Parking Brake (EPB) across the range. The EPB comes in four modes. The Jeep Compass will be the only SUV in this size and classification that will offer this cool safety and security feature across the range
