Prime Minister Narendra Modi has issued a stern warning to cow vigilantes and groups involved in violence against people in the name of cow protection during the eve of the monsoon session of Parliament on Sunday.
PM Modi said, “No one is allowed to take law and order into their own hands”.
“PM Modi has asked the states to take strict action against those violating law in the name of cow protection. No person or group can be allowed to take the law into their own hands” said Union Minister Ananth Kumar on behalf of PM Modi.
“There is a law on cow protection in the country, but committing crimes in the name of cow protection is completely unacceptable” he added while addressing the media.
He also alleged that some political parties are politicising the issue of cow vigilantism which is in bad taste to the secularism of the country.
His remarks on the issue came after the reported rising case of mob lynching and groups of people attacking people in the name of cow protection.
