American SUV maker Jeep has marked its entry in India with its entry-level model Compass. The Jeep announced its debut with ‘Make in India’ Compass and opened bookings online on June 20th, the car looks in demand for the SUV lovers as the car managed to gather more than 1000 bookings already within a week.

The SUV is powered by a 172hp, 2.0-litre diesel motor mated to a six-speed manual transmission.The other variant to be launched in the later stage will have a 1.4-litre, MultiAir turbo petrol engine from Fiat good for 162hp.
The Compass is most likely to hit the road next month and will compete against Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavor in the Indian market. The car’s price is expected to vary anywhere in between Rs 18 to 25 Lakh ex-showroom.
