Virgin Mobile USA will become the first iPhone-only mobile carrier as part of a new deal with Apple. The carrier will only offer new and pre-owned iPhones and consumers can avail Virgin’s services in Apple Stores when they buy a new iPhone.
To promote the new iPhone-only deal Virgin Mobile will offer an enticing plan to iPhone adopters. The new Inner Circle plan offers iPhone buyers six months of unlimited talktime, messages, and data for $1 and the early adopters who opt into the carrier and an iPhone between June 27 and July 31 will get a year of the unlimited service for the same price.
The iPhone is a popular brand around the world and Sir Richard Branson’s plan is to leverage the smartphone’s popularity to increase its own user base in the US. The carrier is also offering the lower models in Apple’s iPhone lineup at heavily discounted prices, introducing budget users to the premium iPhone experience.
