A member of the royal family of Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah, Al Qassimi has invested an undisclosed sum of money to the food start-up, according to the reports.

She decided to invest money following company’s intention to hire women as the majority of its workforce from weaker sections of the society.

“Of our total workforce, we plan to hire about 90 percent women, that too from organisations that groom and empower women from disadvantaged backgrounds. This was the biggest motivation for Sheikha Arwa Al Qassimi to invest in our company,” said CEO of Wegan Food, Kinjal Darukhanawala.
