MobiKwik, BSNL tie-up to benefit 95 million users with digital payment services

New Delhi: State-owned telecommunications major Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) and new-age Indian mobile wallet major MobiKwik on Monday announced their strategic partnership to develop BSNL’s mobile application.

MobiKwik will co-create BSNL wallet, a new semi-closed wallet to facilitate ease of payment and also sell BSNL products exclusively in their wallet.

It will be a facilitator to the Users with its services like bank transactions and bill payments in a fast and easier manner. The co-created wallet will be developed, operated and issued by MobiKwik and distributed and marketed by BSNL.

With BSNL’s wide presence all over the country, the partnership aims to deepen PM Modi’s Digital India dream. The wallets would allow the users to pay bills Via MobiKwik app.

“We are proud to associate with BSNL in an endeavour to empower masses in India with access to highly dependable internet connectivity and digital payments. BSNL wallet will enable masses in paying bills and recharging their phone connections within seconds. The co-branded wallet shall be integrated on BSNL’s platform by Mobikwik,” said founder and CEO Mobikwik, Bipin Preet Singh.

Adding to this Singh said that the mobile wallets are increasingly becoming a part of the daily lives of the digital consumers, especially the millennials who have grown up with digital, and 93.9 percent of Gen Y have a smartphone. Thus, they use their phones heavily and integrate mobile tools in every part of their daily lives.
