Date:

If you are a frequent backpacker but don’t want to buy travelling gears, here  great help for you as online aggregator and one stop destination for travel preparedness, Bragpacker has introduced the concept of pre-travel shopping solutions where the portal will offer a curated list of premium travel gear, luggage, lens and everything in between.

An online travel gear store offering products like Go Pros, DSLRs, variety of lenses to camping gear, luggage items and baby products at affordable prices, Bragpacker provides an extensive list of travel products for any kind of travel that is always ready to go and delivered to the customer’s doorstep.

It also introduced the concept of ‘Try and Buy‘, wherein the customers can try a product for a small rental fee and if appropriate Bragpacker will send a brand new product to them and also adjust the rental fee against the Buy price.

“Globally, there has been an explosion of innovative products specifically designed for travelers that can really help upgrade your travel experience. However, much of this remains inaccessible to most Indian travelers. With the Indian traveler spreading his wings, there was a need to build a platform for premium travel gear in a one-stop travel store. At the same time the question of affordability had to be handled. So we adopted the rental model for travel gear which enables our customers to access top global brands at a fraction of the cost. Renting travel gear makes a lot of sense as these are products you use no more than one to two times a year and much of it is either bulky (luggage), expensive (cameras/lenses) or high maintenance (camping gear) and are likely to get outdated by the time you go for your next trip,” founder of Bragpacker, Manan Shah.

In order to purchase or rent travel equipment, customers upon visiting the portal can choose their travel needs according to product categories, after which the order can be placed and will be delivered at their doorstep within a few hours.

Subsequently, the company also maintains an inventory of the products that have been sold or leased out on rent, thereby ensuring thorough monitoring of products and timely delivery to customers.

Currently, the company operates with five categories of products- travel essentials, luggage, baby products, photography equipment and outdoor kits. The firm has partnered with brands such as Victorinox, Deuter, Aquapac, Anmol, Tropicool, Thule and Chicco, and is looking to further expand its product portfolio.

Giving insights on the company’s financial front, Manan said that Bragpacker is a self-funded company, with internal accruals covering operational costs.

“We hope to initiate our outreach for seeking funding from Angel investors post the end of this peak season of May-July,” he added.

Bragpacker recently launched a ‘Travel Treasure Hunt’, an online quiz aimed at garnering a wider customer base. Also, the firm has been using outreach programmes aimed at travel agencies and travel bloggers in order to appeal to the traveler community.

Through its forthcoming initiative ‘Bragpacker Traveler’s Club’, slated to be launched in June this year, the company will engage with select travel enthusiasts, who will be entitled to rent-free usage of the travel gear inventory all through the remaining part of 2017, in exchange for assisting in content creation for the company and interacting on social media platforms.
