As the world continues to take steps towards embracing renewable energy, China has activated the world’s largest floating solar power plant. The solar power plant is located in the city of Huainan in the Anhui province of China.
The power plant has a power output capacity of 40 megawatts and has been constructed by the Sungrow Power Supply Co. Ltd. The solar power plant sits on top of a lake that had been created by flooding a former coal-mining town.
By building the solar power plant on top of a lake, water preservation is ensured as the solar panels prevent water from evaporating into the surroundings while the cooler ambient temperatures of the lake help regulate the temperatures of electrical equipment, thus improving efficiency. SEO India
The activation of this floating power plant comes a year after China activated another 20MW floating power plant at Huainan as well as the Longyangxia Dam Solar Park with a power output of 850MW.
