Several attempts have been made to make bilateral series happen between India and Pakistan by cricketing bodies of the two nations, but due to high political tensions between the two countries has not allowed the series to take place and it looks like it will not happen anytime soon. The recent meeting between PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) and the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) in Dubai to discuss the MoU’s signed in 2014 witnessed Goel’s comments against such series unless such ceasefire by Pakistan is checked.

“India and Pakistan can’t play bilateral series till the terror from Pakistan remains,” Goyal said.

“BCCI should speak to the government before giving any proposal to Pakistan. I have made it clear that bilateral cricket with Pakistan is not possible till the time there is a cross-border terror. We have, however, no say on multilateral events (ICC tournaments).” he added.

Meanwhile, PCB has sent a legal notice to the BCCI for not following the MoU according to which five bilateral series would have to be held between India and Pakistan between 2015 and 2023.

BCCI Joint Secretary, Amitabh Chaudhary has now to make them understand that such series could not take place without government’s decision and tell them to take the case back.
